RealUp.com Launches Ecommerce Platform at TechCrunch Disrupt

Monday, May 24, 2010
Raleigh, NC (May 24, 2010) –- RealUp.com, the fastest growing commercial real estate website, has launched its ecommerce platform at TechCrunch Disrupt, the inaugural technology and innovation conference from TechCrunch.

New ecommerce options available for property listings include email blasts, listing distribution and search advertising. These new products are integrated into the listing creation process and are now available for purchase. To ensure customer satisfaction, all RealUp ecommerce products come with money back guarantees.

"There is no better place for RealUp to unveil our revolutionary business model than at TechCrunch Disrupt," said Brian Randy Funk, President of RealUp. "Our goal at RealUp has always been to shake up the commercial real estate listing market by offering free listings, free sales comps, and free demographics. We are now combining these free services with advanced exposure options integrated into the latest technology platform."

TechCrunch Disrupt is designed for innovators in new Internet-enabled industries such as the social web, mobile, real-time, gaming and virtual goods. RealUp will be exhibiting as part of the Startup Alley, which is open exclusively to companies founded within the last 2 years and with less than $2 million financing. Featured speakers at TechCrunch Disrupt include Tim Armstrong, CEO of AOL; Carol Bartz, CEO of Yahoo; Sarah Chubb, President of Conde Nast Digital; and Jack Dorsey, Co-founder of Twitter.

The new RealUp ecommerce options integrate technology from several other companies attending TechCrunch Disrupt. For instance, the new listing distribution option will export property information to Twitter, eBay, and Oodle. Additionally, the search advertising option automatically creates text ads on all major search engines, including Google, Microsoft Bing and Yahoo.

All listings in the RealUp property database now have the ability to upgrade to the enhanced exposure options. This totals over 275,000 commercial real estate listings including over $125 billion worth of property for sale and 950 million square feet of lease space. Since launching the website just one year ago, RealUp has partnered with some of the largest brokerages in the nation including Century 21 Commercial, Grubb & Ellis, Keller Williams Commercial, TCN Worldwide, Sperry Van Ness, and Coldwell Banker Commercial.

Internet Summit 2009

Friday, November 06, 2009
The second annual Internet Summit 2009 took place November 4 – 5 at the beautiful newly renovated Raleigh Convention Center here in Raleigh, NC.

The event consists of thousands of entrepreneurs, senior marketers, investors and executives sharing opportunities and trends in web innovation, social media, online advertising, video, mobile, cloud, real-time, search, ecommerce and more.

The event began on Wednesday evening with a conference opening reception at the convention center and a networking party at the Oxford, a new local downtown hot spot.

Serious business began at 7am on Thursday morning with a networking breakfast which immediately fed into the first two speakers of the day, John Kosner, Senior VP of ESPN Digital Media and Richard Jalichandra, President & CEO of Technorati Media. The key messages to draw out of these speeches were the importance of sticking to your company's core competencies and the growing necessity of blogging and micro-blogging for Internet companies today.

We were able to attend eight of the panel discussion sessions on topics like search marketing, analytics, social media, online advertising, design and usability, email marketing and e-commerce. We learned a lot from the stimulating sessions with the important recurring themes being:
  • Blogging & Micro-blogging – it is imperative with online businesses today
  • Social Networking – know what networks to use and integrate your marketing plan
  • Analytics – you must collect the data, analyze and actually act on the results
  • Content, Content, Content!
The day ended with key note speakers, Joe Kennedy, President & CEO of Pandora and Douglas Lebda, Chairman & CEO of Lending Tree. In my opinion, these presentations proved to be the most stimulating of the day by highlighting methods of capitalizing on innovative opportunities for internet businesses. Mr. Lebda also spoke on relative topics in the real estate industry with his experience with realestate.com.

Overall, the conference was a great success and turned out around 1,200 Internet professionals. Session panelists included major industry leaders such as Google, Microsoft, AOL, Expedia, SAS, 1-800-Flowers, Goldman Sachs, Digg and even the Phoenix Suns basketball team. We would absolutely recommend this event to others in the industry. Next year we may get more involved and take a different approach by being on one of the panel boards or even being a sponsor!

Deck of Cards

Friday, October 02, 2009
Going to a large convention like ICSC RECon or the CCIM & IREM Success Series makes a person really appreciate their business cards. These little 2" by 3 ½" cards can really make a difference!

Business cards are a staple of any networking event. They have the name of the person, organization, a logo and contact information. Of course, our business cards also come with our URL, www.RealUp.com.

The style of a business card can give you an idea of the personality of a company. A linen, black and white card can denote a very serious company, but doesn't have a lot of "fun factor." Our cards have all the colors of our logo and a lot of shine. We're a bright new company with bright new cards.

We ordered our business cards from VistaPrint, a national online print-on-demand service. VistaPrint is the first result to come up on a Google search for business cards and have very reasonable prices. Our cards have a glossy finish with foil and we ended up being very satisfied. In fact, we can't wait to give them all away and order new business cards.

What's your favorite networking event? Let us know and maybe we'll see you there - just remember to bring along a business card!

Aloha - CCIM & IREM Success Series 2009

Wednesday, September 30, 2009
RealUp is proud to announce that we are an official sponsor of the CCIM & IREM Success Series 2009 being held October 16th & 17th in Honolulu, Hawaii!

This event is a collaboration of the CCIM Institute and the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). This conference brings together more than 1,000 targeted real estate professionals – about 70% of whom hold executive-level positions.

Although there is an exhibit floor, this is not a traditional "trade show floor meet, greet and leave". The event is designed to allow for more personable interaction and is heavily focused on networking opportunities and relationship building.

We will also take advantage of this unique opportunity and plan to launch new services and features to RealUp.com. This will be a major milestone for RealUp and unveiling our new features and services at this event will help us to maximize our exposure and sales potential to a highly targeted audience.

Our President, Brian Randy Funk, will be making the long journey and representing RealUp in Hawaii. If you or your colleagues are planning to attend the Success Series 2009 please stop by booth #18 and meet Brian. You will also see him at the networking events and maybe even on the golf course for the Success Series Golf Tournament.

Please take the time to stop by the RealUp booth (#18) and speak with us.
